Pia Miranda (she/her) is one of Australia’s best loved and critically acclaimed actors. Since bursting onto the big screen in the lead role of Josie Alibrandi in the much-loved film LOOKING FOR ALIBRANdi, Pia has become part of Australian film history. Pia’s work was recognised by the Australian Film Institute, and she was awarded Best Actress at the Australian Film Institute (AFI) Awards in 2000. Pia’s body of work includes lead roles in GARAGE DAYS directed by Alex Proyas, TRAVELLING LIGHT and THE TENDER HOOK opposite Rose Byrne and Hugo Weaving. Pia also appeared in the Australian comedy GODDESS with Ronan Keating. In television, Pia’s roles have included the ABC’s GRASS ROOTS, Network Ten’s hit series THE SECRET LIFE OF US, SEA PATROL for the Nine Network, Peter Helliars’ ABC comedy series IT’S A DATE, the ABC drama series TIME OF OUR LIVES with Claudia Karvan and Justine Clarke, and the acclaimed Foxtel prison drama WENTWORTH.

Pia has also worked extensively in theatre for Australia’s leading companies including The Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, and the State Theatre Company of South Australia.

Pia’s credits also include Network Nine’s comedy series TRUE STORY WITH HAMISH & ANDY; the comedy web series HOW TO LIFE and SEEN both produced by Ryan Shelton, BACK IN VERY SMALL BUSINESS, THE WEEKLY with Charlie Pickering and AUNTY DONNA’S COFFEE CAFE for the ABC. Notably Pia appeared in the first, second and third series of MUSTANGS FC and DARBY AND JOAN both for the ABC. Recently Pia has been seen in Freemantle/Channel 5 UK thrillers RIPTIDE and HEAT alongside Danny Dyer. For Stan originals Pia has been seen in WINDCATCHER with Jessica Mauboy and the critically acclaimed INVISIBLE BOYS. Pia’s love for Reality TV also shined through when 2019 saw Pia on series 4 of AUSTRALIAN SURVIVOR CHAMPIONS V CONTENDERS where she struggled through 50 days in the Fijian jungle to ultimately be unanimously crowned the Sole Survivor with an impressive 9-0 victory. Most recently she has featured on WOULD I LIE TO YOU, THE COOK UP on SBS, THE HUNDRED with Andy Lee, THE MASKED SINGER and HOUSE OF GAMES. Pia has also competed on the popular channel 7 series DANCING WITH THE STARS and THE BIG TRIP and is also a host on LUXURY ESCAPES TV for Foxtel.
